Fire & Acoustic T-Block Barrier System for Masonry AND Framed Constructions.
The Stoneshield Fire Safe T Block is manufactured from A1 non-combustible Rockwool insulation and encapsulated in a protective sleeve. This robust fire barrier is designed to prevent fire penetration, reduce sound transmission, and maintain thermal integrity in external wall cavities at junction points.
The Stoneshield Fire Safe T Block is designed to be compression fitted into the wall junction during construction, requiring no additional fixings. It is essential to ensure the correct size barrier has been selected for the cavity width, with a minimum of 10mm compression achieved upon completion. Any cavity insulation should be cut back to maintain correct compression between the inner and outer leaf. Joints must be tightly butted to maintain a continuous fire seal. A optional DPC can be added to any size requested.
Independently tested to BS EN 1366-4:2021, the Stoneshield Fire Safe T Block offers a fire rating of up to 120 minutes. Suitable for use with various boards on timber and steel framing systems. Timber-based boards must have a minimum density of 500kg/m³, while other carrier boards must have a minimum classification of A2 – s1 d0. Minimum permissible board thickness is 9mm.
