Product Description
This product comprises of a Rock mineral wool closer manufactured from a Euro class A1 noncombustible Rock slab, This is encapsulated in a recycled plastic 30% pcw (Post consumer waste) 38-micron film. This film will not propagate the spread of flame. In conjunction with this there is an oversized DPC layer (BS6515:84) to one side. The complete Barrier is made and tested in accordance to BSEN1366-4 AND BSEN1361-:2021,
Applications
This is for party wall or party floor junctions where building regulations require the installation of fire-resistant acoustic insulation. Designed to provide acoustic insulation and prevent fire penetration, the Lancaster Party Wall DPC product range maintains thermal insulation integrity and reduces sound transmission within the cavities of buildings at party wall junctions. Lancaster DPC products are available to fit a wide range of cavity widths within masonry constructions. When installed in the above type of construction Lancaster DPC’s meet the insulation requirements of Approved Document L1A (England & Wales: October 2010).
Installation
Lancaster Party Wall DPC’s are designed to be friction fitted, as the block and brickwork proceeds, at the party wall junction within a masonry cavity. Lancaster DPC’s do not require any mechanical anchors or fixings. The DPC membrane is placed against the inner face of the external brickwork a overlap joint on the DPC of 100mm is supplied on the length and minimum 40mm on the joint widths, joints should be closely fitted with no visible gaps. It is important that the barrier completely fills the cavity between the brick and the blockwork and cavity insulation material should be cut back to ensure this where necessary.
