Application
The Stoneshield Wired Tile Batten Barrier is designed to provide a fire, thermal and acoustic break at the party wall between the roof tiles and roof membrane. It can be used in conjunction with the Stoneshield Party Wall System to create a complete fire break at the separating wall between two dwellings.
Fire Properties
Stoneshield Wired Tile Batten Barrier has been fire tested in accordance with the principles given in EN1366-4, achieving 120 minutes fire integrity and 120 minutes insulation within a masonry construction. Real world performance may be affected by the fire performance of supporting and abutting elements, for example the roof structure and membrane.
It is third-party certificated by IFC Certification, which ensures products have been thoroughly and independently evaluated, and are manufactured to the same specification as tested.
Standards
Manufactured using rockfibre mineral wool achieving a fire classification of Euroclass A1 as defined in BS EN 13501-1.
Installation
- Position the Stoneshield Wired Tile Batten Barrier at the party wall line above the roof covering and before the tile battens are fitted.
- Use a knife and wire cutters to cut through the insulation in line with the leading (top) edge of the tile batten.
- Work the tile batten into the cut in the insulation, ensuring the lower edge is covered by insulation.
- Check insulation height before proceeding to ensure full contact with the back of the roof tile when fitted.
- Handle carefully to avoid damaging the mineral wool.
